Kukeldash Madrassah - Bukhara (UNESCO WHS)
Bukhara is the fifth largest city of Uzbekistan. The region around Bukhara has been inhabited for at least five millenia. It is located on the Silk Road. Therefore, it has long been a center of trade, culture, education and religion. The historic center of Bukhara, which contains many mosques and madrassahs, has been a UNESCO site since 1993. Many thanks to Leslie (ctrekoza in the forums) for making a unique contribution to my UNESCO collection.
