My one and only Austrian postcard pal, Andrea (marcie08 in the forums) sent me this card as an addition to Eggenberg Castle she had sent before. She sent it for Different Countries RR, Group 42. The card shows the Planet Hall inside the castle. All the decoration in this room is characterized by astronomical symbolism. At the beginning of the decorations in 1678, only seven celestial bodies were known and the painter allocated those to the days of the week, to Roman Gods and members of the Eggenberg family.
