Štanjel - Slovenia

I received this card of the village of Stanjel from ma7mak for January RR 2010. It is a small Slovenian village in the Littoral region of Slovenia. I learned that in the 17th century the village was fortificated to defend it against the Ottoman raids and it was heavily damaged in World War II.
