South Carolina Capitol Building

My first card from the state of South Carolina came from Amanda for November RR, 2009. On the back of the card, it says, "Known locally as the State House, it was begun in 1855 from a design by John R. Niernsee and completed in 1907. Six bronze stars mark the outside walls as reminders of Sherman's attack on Columbia. Many famous statues and relics are found on the grounds and in the capitol".
