Pittsburgh

As far as I know I have received four cards of Pittsburgh till today: Three of them are from Katie (krhocevar) and an official one.

The first one is the last one I have received. It is from krhocevar for January RR 2010. The card shows The Italian Nationality Room in the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. The decoration of the room reminds of a 15th century Tuscan monastery. Names and founding dates of Italian universities are carved on the bench backs - the oldest: Bologna, 1088. The rear wall mural honors the world's first woman to earn a university degree: Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia, who graduated from the University of Padua in 1678.

The second card from Katie shows the downtown Pittsburgh viewed at dawn from the West End Overlook (Different Countries RR, New Year Group).

This one is the Official Postcrossing Card (US-485039). It shows the Grandview Avenue during the city's annual Lightup Night, which is a day-long family festival in the city.

The last card is the first card of Pittsburgh I had received from Katie (krhocevar) for November RR 2009. It shows the largest fireworks display in Pittsburgh history for the 250th birthday celebration on October 4, 2008.

  1. Hurray! If I were to send you one of Pittsburgh right now, it would just be a blank white card... we have just been slammed with snow. :) It's lovely to see my cards here. Also useful, so I can be sure not to send any repeats. ;) Thanks for sharing dear! :)
